It’s a wrap! We have now concluded two and a half days of intriguing conversations and performances last week in Dorking. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. See you next year!
Welcome to the sixth Migration Residential hosted by Paul Hamlyn Foundation in collaboration with collective liberation practitioners and facilitators Held.
We believe in the power of a healthy and durable migrant justice movement built on radical solidarity. With that in mind, the residential will be a space for you to recharge, connect with others and strategise so we can continue working together towards a more just society for all of us.
This year’s residential draws on consultation and conversations with many of our funded partners. Together with Held, we have curated a diverse agenda focused on connection, exploration and strategisingfor change with a mix of guided sessions and workshops and attendee-led discussions.
With the next UK General Election soon approaching, we hope this will be an opportunity to reflect together on our priorities as a movement and how we can build on different approaches to change to progress towards our individual and collective goals.
As always, our focus is on exploration and not production – we do not expect you to develop new projects or work for yourselves. Instead, we hope you will take this opportunity to make connections, reach out to those you may not have met before, and participate in engaging discussions.
We understand that a healthy and durable migrant justice movement requires our diversity and difference. And, we know that when in space together this can feel difficult, uncomfortable, and harmful. While this is natural and expected in achieving social change, our team along with Held have paid special attention to creating a space that allows us to disagree in a healthy, trauma-informed and transformational way. Like in previous years, we will also have mental health support available to all attendees.
We are very excited to see you in person soon! We hope you will find time to recharge, connect and strategise with others.
